Practice vs. policy: Aligning enterprise endpoint protection needs with employee file sync and share habits survey analysis report

Overview

This report, conducted by YouGov Plc. on behalf of HP, details the findings of a U.S. and U.K.-based online survey of over 8,000 office workers' file-sharing preferences and practices related to their employer’s protocols and policies. It reveals that corporate workers’ practices don’t always align with employers’ information management policies. Workers tend to seek solutions that offer the accessibility they’ve come to expect of consumer-focused file-sharing services, and many will even sidestep file-sharing protocols defined by their employer and use commercial-grade services for the sake of greater productivity and speed.

To address this exposure, corporations need to find a way to align enterprise file-sharing and synchronization (EFSS) practices and protocols without compromising end-user expectations of convenience and efficiency.
